KOCHI: It was a day for nature at T. Kaladharan's Orthic Creative Centre at Karikkamuri Cross Road. Nature through water, it could be said, since it was a watercolour camp. A fitting concept to the monsoon. Kaladharan has titled the camp 'Monsoon.'
A total of 15 artists participated in the camp, which began in the morning. The camp had senior established artists, as well as youngsters and new entrants. C.N. Karunakaran, K.K. Rajappan, T. Kaladharan, Rajan M. Krishnan, P.V. Nandan, Anil Dayanand, Venkitaraman, Asanthan, Sunil Vallarpadam, Jayendran, Suresh Koothuparambu, Prasanth Olivilam, Eldo Joseph, Thomas Kurisinkal and Minna Philips worked with watercolour.
K.K. Rajappan was the camp director and P.V. Nandan the convener. "The camps provide a space for the artists to spent time together," said Mr. Rajappan, former head of the department of Painting at Government College of Fine Arts.
The camp was conceived by Mr. Kaladharan as part of making the Orthic Creative Centre a gathering place for the artists.
Almost all the participating artists choose to work on various facets of nature.
The works selected from the camp will be exhibited at the Orthic Creative Centre on July 15.
