The renovated air-conditioned conference hall of the District Rural Development Agency will be inaugurated by Mr. Mohammed Kutty on the occasion. The hall was renovated at a cost of around Rs. 4 lakhs from the National Savings Scheme funds.
Mr. Hanish said finishing touches were being given to the renovated Civil Station. Computers were being installed. Sprucing up of the premises had been completed.
He said old furniture of the Collectorate would be given to village and taluk offices in the district.
Steps would be taken to solve furniture shortage in all the 125 village offices and seven taluk offices, he added.

He said a library was being set up in the recreation room of the renovated premises, utilising the Modernising Government Programme funds. The library, which would have general books and those of service rules and official volumes, would be a new experiment.
He said work on the videoconferencing hall had been completed. The Kerala State IT Mission had been requested to place the videoconferencing unit, installed temporarily at the Infopark, at the Collectorate.
Work on a 250-seat conference hall in the western wing of the Civil Station, with all modern facilities, would begin only after the inauguration. A media room would also be included on the new premises.
Sprucing up of the Assistant Development Commissioner's office would be completed in a month, he added.
